DECENT HOTEL BUT HORRIBLE STAFF I booked Hotel Anurag Palace for two nights for my parents. I didn't have high expectations of service as the hotel is not located in a metro city. No hot water, no delivery of food to the room. However, I was fine with that. The hotel is in the centre of the city and has decent rooms. The hotel staff, however, is extremely rude and treats guests as if they're doing a favour by letting them stay for a few nights. The hotel is locked with shutter down from 11 PM to 8 AM. So basically it is a jail throughout the night. If there's any emergency at night, you're on your own. My father wanted to get some medicines in the morning. However, since the hotel's shutter was closed, he was locked inside. So he called the room service. The staff at the reception was utterly unresponsive and deliberately picked and cut the call, not once but four times. Eventually my father with the help of another guest opened the shutter and went out. Later in the day, when the reception staff learnt that my father had opened the shutter on his own, he literally threatened him, saying, "Aapne subah shutter kholkar sahi nahi kiya, aapko me sabak sikhakar rahunga." This is entirely unacceptable behaviour towards a guest who has paid the hotel in advance and was in need of medicines. This place deserves negative rating. I'm giving this place at least 1 star because later in the day the hotel owner called and apologized to my parents. PLEASE AVOID HOTEL ANURAG PALACE IF POSSIBLE.
