​We stayed with family at Hotel Sonar Bangla, Darjeeling, for two nights on July 23rd and 24th. Overall, our experience was a mix of great positives and a few concerning service gaps. ​The Positives: ​Location: The location is fantastic with very convenient access to Mall Road, making it easy to explore the town. ​Dining & Restaurant Staff: The food was excellent—especially for families traveling with young children who prefer non-spicy meals. The restaurant staff were exceptionally polite, supportive, and well-behaved throughout our stay. ​Areas for Improvement: ​Housekeeping & Cleanliness: Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the room linen left much to be desired. When we left the hotel on the morning of the 24th for sightseeing, we explicitly requested housekeeping to clean the room and replace the bedsheets, pillow covers, and towels. Upon our return, we discovered that nothing had been done, and we were left with stained bedsheets and towels (attaching photos for context). ​Front Desk Management: When I brought this issue to the reception, the senior manager on duty was quite arrogant. Instead of addressing the concern professionally, he dismissively claimed that all the linens and towels were clean, despite clear visual evidence to the contrary. ​Final Note to Ownership: Hotel Sonar Bangla has great potential given its prime location and excellent food and restaurant staff. However, the lack of basic housekeeping standards and the poor attitude of the reception manager significantly downgraded our experience. I urge the ownership and management to look into housekeeping accountability and front-desk service training to ensure guests receive the quality of stay they pay for.

Great Experience at the hotel. Booked a triple bed view room, excellent facilities and view. Food was also nice coupled with the complimentary breakfast buffet. Very close to mall road, 50 MTRS to Glenary's vai shortcut.
