Rooms are very spacious in all categories. Service team was extremely helpful. Kitchen staff preparing meals outside the time limits. Devashish gave as good coffee whenever required. Best part of the resort is private beach with whole night access and a security man 24* 7 at the beach.
We recently stayed at Munjoh Ocean Resort in Havelock to celebrate our daughter Hanishra's second birthday, and we had a wonderful experience overall. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making our stay very relaxing. The staff were courteous, friendly, and always ready to help, which made us feel welcomed throughout our visit. One small suggestion would be regarding the food service. The food was good, but at times it took a little longer than expected to place and receive our orders. We believe that improving the speed of service would make the overall guest experience even better. Apart from this, everything was excellent. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay comfortable and memorable.
The experience I had at Munjoh Resort was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. The hospitality was truly amicable. The highlights for me were the private beach at the resort, the extremely helpful and courteous staff and of course, the comfortable rooms. The restaurant, too, served us really amazing food and they were willing to customise all our orders for us. They have arranged for a beautiful seating area at the beach at which we spent most of our time during the stay. It was extremely relaxing to sit by the beach and go for a dip occasionally. The entire property was heavenly, it was so quiet, peaceful and it genuinely felt like an escape from the noises of the outside world. A special mention to the staff of the resort. They went above and beyond to cater to all our needs. They particularly made our entire stay here extremely wholesome. They were so kind and considerate to all our needs, and were extremely sweet to have good conversations with us too! Ms Puja, Ms Priya, Mr Agnu, Mr Akshay are the few names I recall, however each and every person in the team was very very sweet, helpful and respectful. The only one thing missing was a swimming pool inside the premise. But overall, great work and hospitality!
Will never recommend anyone to book this resort. Warning everyone about the situation we had gone through. We had booked there Garden Cottage which was the second best category of the hotel. There rooms were not good. Even the couch was burnt. Don’t go for pictures they had put online which 5-6 years back. Complaining make my trip they connected us to the owner. He upgraded our room to there too category which is “Royal Chalet” which they charge for 35k per night. But as soon as we checked into that suite. The hall, the room everything was damped. Couch was broken. All the walls were having termite. Even my mom got hurt. As soon as she sat on the sofa. It got completely broken. And when we had complained to there VP she accused us that you had broken the property and blaming us. It was the worst decision ever. No good breakfast. No food you will get in the resort. Only thing good was there staffs were adjusting. Nothing else.
Incredible Space for Large Families, Stunning beach but Missing Luxury Basics (No Pool & Inconsistent Food) We stayed in the Royal Chalet as a family of five (including a 3-year-old and 6-year-old). This property is a mix of high potential and frustrating execution. Here is the breakdown for anyone considering a stay: The Room & Property: We stayed in the Royal Chalet, which is the property's biggest strength. If you are a large family (we had 9 people gathered comfortably at one point), this space is unbeatable in Havelock—much better than what you’ll find at the Taj or Barefoot for groups. The beach is private, safe for kids, and beautifully shaded by natural trees. The beach access is fantastic. One walkway is well-paved, while the other is a charming forest path (with lights). The beach itself is super safe for kids, clean, and uncrowded. A major plus: the sun loungers are placed under natural shade, so you can stay there comfortably for hours. However, service on the beach is non-existent—no ordering desk, long waits for drinks, and used dishes are rarely cleared. Note: There is no common swimming pool, which is a major omission for a luxury resort. The Kitchen & Chef Inconsistency (The biggest letdown): The food was highly frustrating. There is a complete lack of consistency and basic culinary technique: The "White" Breakfast: Every morning, staples like pancakes, parathas, and dosas—which should be golden brown—were served "white" and undercooked. It happened so regularly it felt like a lack of training rather than a one-off mistake. Lack of Presentation: For the prices charged, the presentation was non-existent. The Christmas Gala dinner (which we paid heavily for) started 45 minutes late, and the chocolate mousse had melted into syrup within 15 minutes of being served. The Tea Struggle: We were constantly pushed to drink pre-prepared tea from a heater that tasted burnt, and getting a fresh cup was a multi-request ordeal. While the chef will make off-menu items for kids, the taste varies so much day-to-day that you never know what you’re going to get. Service & Unprofessional Billing: The new manager, Mr. Akshay, and the newer staff Vishal and Aman, are extremely hospitable and clearly trying to improve things. Other staff however were more passive and non commital to any requests. We had to ask for basic "essentials" (toothpaste, dustbins, Odomos) that should have been ready upon arrival. Also, the billing process was exhausting. Menu prices for the exact same items changed on different days. I had to spend 45 minutes of my vacation doing "bill math" to catch overcharges that would have gone unnoticed otherwise. Pro Tip on Ferry Tickets: The hotel significantly overcharges for ferry tickets (upgrade is 590 on ferry but they quoted 1200). Save yourself the stress and money—book your Makruzz tickets directly online. Verdict: Munjoh has the location and the space, but it lacks the soul and standard of a luxury resort. It’s a 5-star price for a 3-star experience.
