⭐⭐⭐

Hotel Lavisto is centrally located overlooking the backside of the Kohima War cemetery on one side and Kohima Town on the other side. We took a room facing the war cemetery and were disappointed with the amount of road noise throughout the night as it's a busy highway. If you want a peaceful room book the one towards the kohima valley or the viewing deck. Housekeeping and staff of the hotel are very hospitable and hardworking. They never let down any request and were very quick with their work. The room was very neat and tidy. Room service is good. The view from the viewing deck is beautiful and one can while away good amount of time here. Choose to stay here if you want everything in walking distance and also have a good view. Restaurant has limited staff but the food was worth it.

This was an excellent hotel in terms of everything - room, location, service. We stayed for 3 days in Room 203, which is the best room in the gotel - large and spacious, facing the valley at the back, also has a terrace desk right outside which although it is for public access, is effectively a private terrace because of location. All facilities are excellent, they even give a floor wiper to wipe the wet bathroom floor after use, something few hotels think of. The location is also absolutely central, right opposite the War Cemetery, with cabs passing by, and many cafes and restaurants within walking distance. I am a vegan and found suitable places (like Momomia, Food Balance) within 5.minutes walk.

Rakshit

Everything is almost good except the food and hygiene. When I entered the hotel, it was so foul smelling almost made me nausious which was coming from the kitchen on the basement. I also spotted shrews in the dining hall area while I was having breakfast. They need to work on food hygiene and guest needs. Also the mattress was so uncomfortable. It was more like sleeping on springs. I couldn't sleep peacefully.
