This is an exceptional place. The owner and staff are welcoming, helpful and efficient. The house is beautiful, full of fantastic furniture and art. The rooms are large and comfortable and quiet. Breakfasts are great, with variety and lots of food. We enjoyed breakfast chats with other guests and the owner. Highly recommended.

Anchorage 42 is a peaceful and well-maintained property. Our room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was especially impressive—beautifully designed and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good, particularly the aloo paratha, which was excellent. The tea could have been better. Breakfast is not served in the rooms and must be taken in the common dining area. Guests should also note that lunch and dinner are not available, although food can be ordered from outside. The attendant was courteous, helpful and always available. The main area needing improvement is the bed and bedding. The bed moved and made a squeaking noise, the mattress was quite hard, and the pillows, bedsheet and quilt were not very comfortable. The entrance also felt somewhat overgrown and cluttered because of the large number of plants and trees, although the interiors were much better. Overall, it was a good stay with spacious rooms, excellent bathrooms, a quiet atmosphere and a very good breakfast. Better beds and bedding would improve the experience considerably.

My chance discovery of this beautiful property on Booking.com turned out to be a delightful surprise. In many ways, it surpasses even some of the well-known 5-star hotels in Chandigarh. Nestled amidst lush greenery and tranquility, the property enjoys an excellent location close to Sukhna Lake and Rock Garden of Chandigarh. The surroundings are peaceful, making it an ideal retreat from the bustle of city life. The bedrooms are exceptionally spacious, tastefully decorated, and equipped with every comfort one could need. The bathrooms are spotless and meticulously maintained. The staff deserves special mention for their warmth, attentiveness, and excellent service throughout our stay. Although we had the opportunity to enjoy only breakfast, we were genuinely impressed by both the quality of the food and the hospitality extended to us. I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway or a comfortable stopover while travelling through Chandigarh. It offers the perfect combination of comfort, character, hospitality, and location, all under one roof.
