⭐ 1/5 – STRICTLY NOT RECOMMENDED TO STAY I stayed at Pondy Heights for two nights with my family and booked a Studio + Room. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. 1. Location: Although the hotel is in the heart of the market area, reaching it is extremely frustrating due to heavy traffic. 2. Reception: There is no proper reception or guest support. Calling the reception from the room was pointless, as no one answered. 3. Parking: The parking facility is poorly planned and extremely inconvenient. 4. Room Condition: This was the biggest disappointment. * Damp patches on the walls * Bathroom had a persistent foul smell * No bucket or mug in the bathroom * No room slippers provided * Uncomfortable, worn-out mattress * Overall poor maintenance and cleanliness 5. Access Card Issue: Only one access card is provided, and it is required to operate the lift. If you take the card with you to go downstairs, the electricity in the room switches off, making it very inconvenient for families. 6. Sunday Market: If you’re planning to stay on a Sunday, think twice. A busy street market operates from around 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM, making it extremely difficult to enter or exit the hotel. 7. Missing Basic Amenities: There was no refrigerator in the room. 8. Safety Concern: The electric kettle provided was leaking, which is unacceptable and could pose a safety risk. What makes this even more disappointing is that I booked the stay directly after speaking with Sharmila Antonitte, who was very confident about the property’s quality. Sadly, the actual experience was nowhere close to what was promised. Please don’t be misled by the photos and promotional videos—they do not reflect the current condition of the property. Paying around ₹9,000 for two nights was simply not worth it. My family’s stay was uncomfortable, disappointing, and stressful from start to finish. I would strongly advise travelers to avoid this property and consider other hotels in Pondicherry that offer better value, cleanliness, and customer service.

We had a wonderful stay at Pondy Heights with my family. The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The hotel is located in the city center, and the beach is just about a 1 km walk away, which is very convenient. One of the biggest advantages is the closed car parking facility. Since many hotels in Pondicherry don't offer dedicated parking, this was a huge plus for us and made our stay much more comfortable. A special thanks to Richard for his warm hospitality and the excellent care he took of us throughout our stay. He was friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcome. The only suggestion for improvement is regarding the lift access card. The lift can only be operated using the room access card, which is a good security feature. However, only one access card is provided per room. If one family member goes out alone, the others may have difficulty using the lift without contacting reception or the person carrying the card. Providing two access cards per room would make the stay much more convenient for families. Other than this small suggestion, everything was excellent. I would definitely recommend Pondy Heights to anyone visiting Pondicherry.

The vibe, ambience, and overall service were genuinely so good — super clean, comfy, and perfect for a chill trip. Shoutout to Richard for being an absolute lifesaver the whole time. He was super sweet, helpful, and gave us great recs around Pondy too. Truly made the stay 10x better. Would 100% recommend this place and definitely coming back

A couple of months ago, we stayed at Pondy Heights and had such a wonderful experience that we recently chose to return—and once again, it exceeded our expectations. From the start, the hotel has consistently delivered on its promise of excellent service and warm hospitality. Sharmi is exceptionally polite, friendly, and highly accommodating, always coordinating effortlessly around our schedules. What truly touched us was her genuine concern for our safety—during a private transport strike, she even checked in to ensure we reached the hotel safely. Although we managed the commute ourselves, the care and thought behind the gesture meant a great deal to us. Richard continues to be an outstanding host, welcoming us with the same friendliness and offering great local spot suggestions that made our stay even more enjoyable. The room service was impeccable on both visits—truly one of the best we’ve experienced and a big reason our stays were so comfortable. Our return visit reaffirmed why we chose this hotel again. A place that truly values its guests and makes every stay memorable. Highly recommended!
