A must stay if you are coming to Leh. The owner the staff the food excellent. The views from the hotel are superb and yes you can hear birds in the morning. Warning the owner is a quick learner and can beat you in his first game of Uno. He is good with cards also and if you drink then you have a drink partner. Lovely stay, lovely people. Thankyou to all the staff members for giving us tea at 5 in the morning and letting us be loud at night.

Longhay Villa is a very neat, clean, and worthy place to stay for anyone. The best things about it are: 1. Spacious and clean rooms at very affordable price 2. Hotel Lonchay Villa, Sankar – A Home Away from Home in Leh Our stay at Hotel Lonchay Villa in Sankar was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Leh. The hospitality extended by Mr. Tundup San (the owner) and his family went far beyond expectations. On our very first day, they kindly prepared low-spice meals specially for us, making us feel completely at home. Our stay in Leh got extended due to ticket unavailability, but the warmth of the hosts turned it into a blessing. Mr. Tundup’s father personally reviewed our itinerary, adding hidden gems and even re-ordering them for the best possible experience. The food deserves a special mention — Vijay (fondly called Veeru) amazed us with his cooking. Thanks to him, I developed a new love for bhindi (lady’s finger), a dish I would usually overlook. We also fondly remember Ramkumar’s gentle smile and his attentive service, often going the extra mile to bring us piping hot meals and tea. Their care extended well beyond regular hospitality. Some of our travel companions fell sick and required hospitalization. The Lonchay team not only arranged for their admission but also prepared nourishing breakfast and wholesome khichdi daily, and even organized hospital pickups. Mr. Tundup also guided us on Leh market shopping, pointing out the best options at affordable prices. On our final day, his mother offered us salt tea and fresh hot cow’s milk, sending us off with warmth and blessings.. I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Lonchay Villa to anyone visiting Leh. It is probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at, and I look forward to returning someday.
