The hotel is among the best. I would recommend it not only for stay but for overall trip planning and management. Stenzin Dorjey, runs this hotel and also runs Himalayan Shepherd for cabs and end to end trip management. He is such a genuine person and all arrangements exceed expectations. Very fairly priced, ...not in habit of writing long review but this person deserves it.

I didn't like this hotel. No food available as for room service. The kettle was dirty. The tv remote did not work. And there was no heating system for rooms. And the worst part is there was a table fan. In what way, it's a four star property. I don't understand. Absolutely worst experience

Exceptional Stay – A True Sanctuary in Leh! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ After a highly frustrating start to our Leh trip, changing two hotels (Grand Yasmin and Hotel Zanang—both of which were pathetic, lacking basic amenities like heaters, running hot water, and any guidance on high-altitude health), discovering Hotel Ladakh Retreat was an absolute blessing. If you are visiting Leh, I suggest you book this place blindly. You will not be disappointed at all. Here is why: Peaceful Location: While it is a bit far from the main market, it is incredibly peaceful. Honestly, there is no point in staying right next to the market anyway; at this high altitude, the breathing difficulties make walking long distances tough, so a tranquil location is much better. Outstanding Hospitality: The front desk team is super helpful and goes above and beyond. I unfortunately forgot to ask his name, but one of the gentlemen at the front desk went out of his way early in the morning to go to the market and arrange dried apricots for me at the very last minute. That level of care is rare! Fantastic Food: The food here was awesome. They serve a nice variety for breakfast, and they made us a super masala omelet that was delicious. Because of health issues, we couldn't partake in the dinner buffet—even though it was included in our stay—but looking at the spread, the variety was awesome. To the management and staff: Keep going and keep rocking! You turned our trip around, and we cannot thank you enough. Highly, highly recommended!

Hotel Ladakh Retreat- I stayed in this Leh Hotel with my wife and 13-year-old daughter from 19th May to 20th May 2026. We booked this room just to spend a last night Ladakh as we had to catch up next morning flight. We checked in around 2.30 pm. There was no proper reception staff available, so a junior support staff member checked us in. It's a huge property with a huge garden and a small swimming pool ( it was not operational, though). It looks very old but decently maintained a hotel. Room - it was a very spacious room good enough for three of us with a king-size bed. The room and its huge bathroom were clean. The room had a huge balcony with a beautiful view. Staff/Service - Our room was on the 1st floor. The hotel staff helped to carry the luggage to the room. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout. But looking at the size of the hotel, it was under staff. Food - We had taken the Breakfast only package. The breakfast was having enough spread (Chhole Bhature, Pohe, Omelet, Bread, Corn Flakes, Fruits, Tea, Coffee) and tasted very well. For dinner, we ordered Masal Maggie in the room, and I must say this was the best Maggie we had in the entire Ladakh. Delicious one. Location - This was a little far from the main Leh market area. Cab takes Rs. 300 to drop you. But it's a quiet property.
