In short, best place to stay in kohima. I stayed at The Palm guest house for six days. The service is exceptional, and the rooms are clean. The food served here is delcious and homely. They also serve limited breakfast options. Usually they will start service very early around 7:30am. They will be able to arrange a rental scooter if available at the time, and can also call a taxi for you. The taxi stand is couple of steps further down the road from guest house. There is room service available, and I would consider it value for money option. The only drawback is that Wi-Fi connection is not smooth, and sometimes goes off, but that is not a deal breaker, 4G connection is available at this location. I would recommend going to a cafe in Kohima city, if you are looking for doing work from home. It is located at the Lerie Colony, you can reach there by taking a taxi from ISBT that will cost around rupees 300 to 350 at non-peak season as of year 2026. The location is quiet and serene. I would definitely consider staying here again if I visit kohima in future. You can sit at the small space at the rooftop to enjoy the view of the southern side of kohima away from the city. The lerie colony is downslope from the main road so you will always have to climb up the road from the guest house if you don't have a vehicle and want to reach the main road to grab the city bus, or taxi. They didn't had rooms available when I first came in, so they accomodated me in adjacent property which was decent, but gladly changed my room proactively when the rooms became available again. The cathedral is at walking distance but the way there is extremely steep climb with lot of stairs.
