We stayed for 2nights at a wonderful IHCL property The Anand Kashi by the Ganges Rishikesh. This hotel is a heritage property along the holy river Ganges and at a very picturesque location on the Badrinath Road, approx 25 kms ahead of Rishikesh. The stay was serene, tranquil and rejuvenating! We were there in the beginning of July and onset of the monsoons and continuous rains. The sound of the raindrops and the sound of the water of Gangaji all the time…as though I am at a beach location was mesmerising! The staff was very courteous, helpful and friendly, specially Rajni, Abhishek & Vijay from Front Office, Deepak - Executive Chef, Pravesh - F&B manager,all at the spa & the rest who made our stay memorable and arranged all that we asked for with a smile - hospitality at its best! Anand Kashi had a 100yrs old Shiv Mandir within the premises and everyday the guests could join for the Shiv aarti in the evening! The deck that overlooks the river and is just behind the Shiv mandir, had the most beautiful & mesmerising views all through the day ! Our room which was spacious and comfortable had a wonderful and huge sit out which looked into the Ganga river. The spa is a forest essential spa which had a lingering aroma of the essential oils of Forest Essential ! The therapists were too good and a spa at this Forest Essential Spa was not only distressing but relaxing and energising at the same time! The property was full of litchi and mango trees and so had some monkeys too, swinging on the trees and enjoying the fruits! We celebrated our wedding anniversary at this wonderful property and have made memories for a lifetime - thank you so much to one and all at Anand Kashi who made this possible!

Avoid at all costs! Hospitalised After My Stay – Extremely Disappointing Experience I stayed at Anand Kashi by the Ganges for 3 nights in June 2026. The only positive aspect of this property is its location near the Ganga and the small private beach area. Unfortunately, my overall experience was extremely disappointing. The hotel charges premium rates but does not provide the level of service one would expect. The check-in process was disorganised, staff often appeared poorly trained, communication was difficult at times, and reception is not staffed 24 hours a day. The most serious issue occurred on my second night. Approximately 24 hours after eating at the hotel's restaurant, I developed severe stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhoea. As my condition worsened, I repeatedly requested medical assistance. Instead of promptly arranging a doctor, I was initially directed to the Restaurant Manager. A doctor eventually arrived during the early hours of the morning. However, I did not feel reassured by the consultation, and despite being charged INR 10,000 for the visit and medication, I was not provided with an invoice or receipt. My condition continued to deteriorate and relatives had to travel from Delhi overnight to collect me. During the journey back, I required emergency treatment at a hospital, where I was diagnosed with severe gastroenteritis and severe dehydration. I received IV treatment and was admitted for further monitoring. I retain the hospital records relating to this treatment. I was forced to leave the hotel early because of my medical condition, yet the hotel refused to refund the unused final night of my stay. The resort is also far noisier than advertised, with music and noise from common areas frequently audible in guest rooms. I stayed in Room 201 and found noise from the lobby particularly disruptive. What concerns me most is not the illness itself, but the hotel's response when a guest required urgent medical assistance. For a property positioning itself as a luxury retreat, I expected far better support during what became a serious medical situation. Based on my experience, I would not return. Update: late June 2026 - After a lot of squabble and heated exchanges with the lower level staff, the Management of the hotel (once they came to know of the entire incident) have now refunded me for 2 nights. I am still unwell, on a strict diet and having to take expensive probiotics to restore my gut flora.
