5/5 Great stay at The Heritage! The service was excellent, the atmosphere warm, and the staff very friendly. Room was nicely equipped and decorated. The view is spectacular, and the food by cook Aso was outstanding - best chicken fried rice I’ve ever had. Highly recommend.

Need better maintenance if the cost is going to that high.

The Heritage is a boutique heritage hotel in Kohima, converted from a 19th-century colonial building. It was the former residence of the Deputy Commissioner during British rule. The building is located on Officer’s Hill (Old DC Bungalow), Kohima, near Raj Bhavan (Governor’s House), one of the more upscale / important localities. Key Features & Ambience The hotel preserves colonial charm — high ceilings, heritage structure, a vintage “bungalow” feel. It offers relatively few rooms, so you can expect more privacy. The cozy and secluded feel is often remarked upon by guests. There’s a restaurant on-site, banquet/conference hall (structured like a Naga hut) for events. Amenities & Practicalities Rooms have attached bathrooms, hot & cold running water. Internet (WiFi) is available. Car parking is present. The hotel is known to be quieter than the busy town center; good for relaxing. However, some reviews mention issues with WiFi / TV in certain rooms. Pricing & Best Time to Stay Tariffs range depending on room type; relative mid-range / boutique hotel pricing. One source gives ~₹1,200 to ₹3,000 range for some rooms. Since it's heritage and somewhat limited in rooms, booking in advance is recommended.
