This Hotel is not near Dal Lake....It is on Dal Lake. Whichever room you get, it will have some view of Dal Lake. Very large hotel and decor is from 80's (not saying this negatively but those who like antique rooms will love this place). The facilities are good but are not up with times. The best part of the hotel is that you can walk up to Dal Lake at any time you want. They have a private viewing deck of Dal Lake and it is one of the most serene views. Staff are very friendly and helpful and pay close attention to detail. The food was good as well. Hotel has one of the best lobbies I have seen. (see pictures I have uploaded). They have a heater in the room for your comfort (They have an AC as well!!!! not sure who will use an AC in Srinagar climate. They should have spent that money in buying better and more comfortable matresses.). There is a swimming pool but it isnt in use. Overall, my experience was very good and the views and private lawns were the cherry on top. Credit Card acceptance can be an issue and it is recommended to carry cash.
