⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) The Grand Dragon is undoubtedly one of the finest places to stay in Leh, and overall, we had a very comfortable and enjoyable experience during our stay. The property is beautiful, well-maintained, and located in an excellent part of Leh, making it convenient to explore the city while enjoying spectacular mountain views. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything required for a pleasant stay. The overall ambiance of the hotel is elegant and gives a premium feel. A special appreciation goes to the restaurant team. The staff was exceptionally courteous, attentive, and always served with a genuine smile. The food quality was excellent, with a good variety of options, and every meal was enjoyable. Their hospitality truly reflected what a luxury hotel should offer. However, the reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the experience at the front desk. The first impression of any hotel begins at the reception, and unfortunately, ours was disappointing. The lady at the reception who welcomed guests came across as highly unprofessional, arrogant, and lacking the warmth that guests expect from a hotel of this reputation. A welcoming smile, patience, and courteous communication go a long way in hospitality, but sadly, these qualities were missing during our interaction. This feedback is not meant to criticize an individual but to bring attention to something that directly affects the guest experience. The Grand Dragon has built an excellent reputation over the years, and it would be unfortunate if guests' first impression is impacted because of the attitude at the front desk. My sincere request to the management is to treat this as constructive feedback. Your restaurant team sets an outstanding example of hospitality, and it would be wonderful if the front office team reflected the same warmth and professionalism. Despite this one issue, I would still recommend The Grand Dragon to anyone visiting Leh because of its excellent location, beautiful property, comfortable rooms, outstanding food, and overall quality of stay. With a little improvement in the front desk hospitality, this hotel can easily deliver a true 5-star guest experience.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our stay at Grand Dragon Hotel in Leh was nothing short of exceptional. From the airport pickup to our farewell, every moment reflected genuine warmth and world-class hospitality. We were welcomed traditionally with refreshing drinks, and the entire staff made us feel at home. A special thanks to Manager Ramzan, who helped us plan our sightseeing and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Every day, before we left for high-altitude destinations, the hotel packed drinking water, food, and even arranged oxygen when required—all as thoughtful gestures, with no hidden charges. The hotel is unbelievably clean—easily one of the cleanest properties I have stayed at in India. The rooms, service, and attention to detail were outstanding. The food was delicious, and the kitchen staff was especially kind and considerate towards our children, making our family feel truly cared for. A hidden gem is the souvenir shop inside the hotel. The quality of authentic local products, including Pashmina and handicrafts, was excellent, and prices were 20–30% lower than the local market. We ended up doing all our shopping there. The complimentary stargazing experience was another unforgettable highlight. Grand Dragon Hotel doesn't just provide accommodation—it creates memories. The hospitality here is so genuine that even luxury brands like Hilton, Holiday Inn, and Marriott could take inspiration from it. If you're visiting Leh, don't think twice—stay at Grand Dragon Hotel. We stayed at Grand Dragon for the first leg of the holiday, selected this prestigious property keeping in mind the requirement to acclimatise to Ladakh weather. The heritage room we were assigned was spacious, an extra bed was also provided as there were three of us. The view from the room was great, Mountain View as well as garden view. The service at this hotel was prompt and exceptional. We were always greeted by the staff with a smile. They serve hi-tea at this property in the evening - the snack selection is quite good. We enjoyed their buffet breakfast, they provide a selection of milk/yoghurt-based drinks, fresh fruit juices and cut fruits, live egg and dosa station along with a variety of jams, honey, dry fruits, Indian and Chinese dishes. We tried their newly opened ryu oka restaurant as well, and we liked the food they served. The staff is very friendly and promptly explain to you the do’s and dont’s for acclimatising to the weather. The accommodate reasonable requests should the need arise. Their room service menu was also good and provided us great food. Overall great stay, would definitely recommend.
