Lived in room 403. It was a horrible experience. Would never go back again to this place and strongly discourage others to do as well. First of all, the hotel is situated at the end of the narrowest and dingiest bylanes of Benaras. There is no auto or e-rickshaw connectivity to the hotel. In order to reach there one would have to walk around 600m from Madanpura. And don't just think of it as spirit of Benaras. O hell no! The narrow streets are covered in garbage from people's houses, cow dung, piss, sewage water and God knows what else making the journey intolerable. There is a foul stench throughout the streets. The location of the hotel is so bad that in order for sightseeing you would have to walk atleast 1 km in any direction through these narrow lanes. Acces to the ghats, Kashi Vishwanath Temple and other tourist places is very bad. Now coming to the hotel itself. It's just a palace in name. In reality, it is probably some old house which has been retrofitted to operate as a hotel. There is no elevator. The stairs are so narrow that two people cannot walk side by side. On top of that, in order to reach room 403 there is a flight of bare metallic stairs which become extremely hot and burning in the sun. Also the place is ransacked with monkeys who try to bite the tourists, so if you are travelling with children or senior citizens please try to avoid this. The room cost us around 5000 rupees per night and they call it the Royal Suite. Forget Royal, it is not even a suite. The room is too small. There is not even an almirah where we could keep our clothes. We had to hang them over a chair. Even the dharamshalas provide better rooms at far cheaper rate. The hotel is heavily overpriced and the service is substandard. On the last night of our stay, power had gone out. And the management is so pathetic they did not even bother to turn on the generator. They made us live at night in the high temperatures of summer without AC and fan!! We could not sleep the entire night. There was not a single phone number on which we could contact them to solve the issue and my father was forced to go down to the reception a total of 5 times throughout the night in order to tell them to turn on the generator so we could sleep in peace. The people managing the place were sleeping soundly, unbothered. Even after paying such a hefty amount, we had to suffer through this poor shitty service. And even if they turned on the generator, they did not keep it on the whole night. They would turn it off every 1 hour and my father had to go again and again and again to tell them to turn it on. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in!!! I have stayed in cheaper places with much more sophisticated staff and better service. The food in the restaurant is too bland and extremely overpriced. Would request everyone to avoid it. In short, avoid this place!! Stay near the main road. And even if you want to get views of the ghat from the hotel, there are plenty other hotels at cheaper rates which provide better service. Go for them. Our entire trip was ruined because we selected this hotel.

Room with river view was good though price is on higher side. Need to take steep staircase from Chausatti ghat up to the hotel, directions not clear. Monkeys can enter the room so stay careful. Ganga swim area right in front and Aarti at Dashwamedh ghat nearby at 3-5 mins walking distance (not seen from the room though). Enjoy the walk through the narrow Banaras lanes. Prices are listed on the higher side online and TV wasn't working during 2 days stay.

If you want a soulful and uninterrupted view of Ganga 24*7 with a 3 min walking proximity to Dashaswamedh Ghat then this can be your choice. I was staying in 403 for 3 nights and absolutely loved the view and accessibility to the ghats. I had some best photos of ghats, sunrise, moon rise and the lined up boats right from my room balcony and the adjoining terrace!! The bathroom water supply had a serious problem and there was no soap holder etc. But on my request those were sorted by them. Kamlesh, Pramod and other staffs are some nice and warm people trying to be at your service any time of day and night. The Hotel Managers - Abhijeet and Ajay are two good soul, extremely helpful and great host. You can not miss the food of their restaurant especially if you are a Chai and Puri Bhaji lover!! The mid aged Man (who is handling the kitchen and preparing the food like a Pro!) has some great cooking skill and served me some satisfying food. The restaurant manager is equally warm and absolutely on his toes. In case you are not lucky to get a Ganga facing room then you can compensate that from the view from restaurant. However there are two hiccups- the entry of the hotel is from the roadside which means you have to navigate your way through the narrow and filthy roads for good 8-10 min to reach the hotel. And GPS doesnt work efficiently- its Benaras ki Gali after all (iykyk)! Everytime you are out, you need to call up the hotel staff to come and get you from the main road - not that they complain about it ever. Secondly if you have aged members accompanying you or someone with serious knee condition then you are in for trouble. There are no rooms on ground floor so you have to take stairs which are very narrow and steep. One miss while climbing up or going down, you are sure to hurt yourself bad. There are iron staircase that leads to the room I was staying- 403. Its not easy for aged people or someone with knee problem to climb those stairs everytime. There is no provision of lift. If you can ignore the above two hiccups then in no way you can miss booking this property. Go for it and you won't regret!

The stay at the hotel was really good . The staffs specially are very helpful and behaved well. The managers of the hotel are the best and can guide you through every query you have regarding the banaras iternary. The location is just near the ghat. Best thing is its terrace and restaurant. The food of the restaurants tasted really good . Overall a very good hotel
