We had a pleasant stay (for 3 nights) in this hotel. The Super Deluxe room has excellent view of the mountain. The staff and workers are polite and courteous. The owner is a kind gentleman; he organised our permits for Bumla Pass. The food options/quality can certainly be better but overall, we enjoyed our time out there.
Exceptional Stay at Monkhem Tawang We stayed at Monkhem Tawang for 5 nights, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The property enjoys an excellent location with stunning views, making it a perfect base for exploring Tawang. The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable, and equipped with modern amenities—something truly remarkable in a remote destination like Tawang. We also enjoyed the recreational facilities, especially the table tennis and badminton, which added to the overall experience. What sets Monkhem apart is its outstanding hospitality. The staff were always friendly, courteous, and ready to help with a smile. The owner was easily accessible and personally ensured that guests were comfortable throughout their stay. A perfect blend of comfort, hospitality, and breathtaking surroundings. I would highly recommend Monkhem Tawang to anyone visiting the region. It's truly a must-stay property in Tawang. 👍🏻⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This property is situated near the Tawang Monastery. All major attractions are just 9-10 minutes away from the hotel. We opted for the deluxe premium room, which was spacious and offered breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The food was delicious and there were many options to choose from. We also tried local items such as momos and thenthuk which were super flavorful. The owner was very amiable and the staff was very polite. Overall, I would highly recommend this property if you are in Tawang.
The hotel is a relatively new property. Deluxe premium room was large and modern, with sofa and table, large king size bed sufficient for two adults and a teenager. Had wooden flooring, and was comfortable to walk given cold weather. Nice view of valley and mountains from room. However closet was small. Bed linen and towels were clean. Staff response was prompt. Heating was good, and luckily there were no power outages when we stayed so had heating through the night. Note that the generator backup is available only few hours in morning and evening (so heating will not be available). In general Tawang has unreliable power supply, so you may need to check hotels which provide 24/7 generator backup. Bathroom was large and clean, though water pressure in taps and shower was low, so we took bucket baths. Food was just ok. Road for last 500m to hotel is narrow (single lane) and in poor condition due to construction. However taxi driver was able to navigate. There is ongoing construction outside the hotel which is an eyesore. Some improvements will help- like a shower enclosure to keep bathroom dry. Also skirting should be added to entry door to prevent cold air entering the room.
Hotel "The Monkhem" Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh when I booked it was not sure about the comfortable stay in the Gods own world. Although the entrance didnt give a smile to my face but the welcome greet by smiling face of Jomba and Tunuteng gave me confidence. The premium deluxe room was more than my expectations. The valley view from my room was mesmerizing.Location wise it was excellent, near to main monastery, away from the crowd The wooden interior, the bed, the bedding, the blankets, the pillows, the couch, the sofas, the almirah, the side table and the carpets of the room were very neat and clean. The washroom cleanliness, amenities, the geyser took my heart. The Airtel wifi in the room was the backbone as our sim was not working. There was ample space for vehicle parking. The owner of the hotel was a kind gentleman, from my first call for a booking room to our checkout, he attended each and every call politely. He and his co workers were very prompt and booked our vehicle for Bumla pass. I will recommend, staying in this hotel. For my next visit with my family I will definately prefer the same room and hotel. The ground floor rooms are assesable with wheel chair.
