My stay at marigold was super! I arrived very late at night and Sonu was still so kind for the check-in and showing me around. The next days we went for some tours (sunrise boat tour is very recommended), drink chai and practice yoga and I felt like home all the time
Owner was lovely, very knowledgeable about the city and was more than happy to answer any questions we had and took us on a boat tour. The rooms where clean and the roof had a lovely view of the city and river.
We loved our stay at the Marigold Guesthouse. The owner, Sonu, was very accomodating to our last minute booking, giving us the 2 rooftop rooms, which were really comfortable. We were right in the heart of the old city, in a perfect neighbourhood. We also enjoyed the sunrise boat tour the Sonu offered.
You can feel good-hearted people from the very beginning, and that’s exactly what I felt with the owner of this colorful, calm, and quiet guesthouse. It also has a rooftop facing the Ganga River and it’s very close to the main ghat. The owner is a guide, a yoga teacher, and also offers boat trips at sunrise. I wouldn’t have done the boat ride with anyone else. Varanasi is such a beautiful place — I was there for only three days, but I miss it so much. I’d definitely choose this guesthouse again! The hotel is very simple and welcoming, you feel right at home. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well lit. There is a terrace overlooking the Ganges where you can do yoga. Sonu is a more than friendly host, he really makes you feel like family and it is a pleasure to talk to him. The location is very strategic, as it is close to great cafes, the Ganges and shops, but on a quiet and peaceful street.
